Before Trump beat the old witch I knew people who were so anxiety ridden they actually bought CORE 15s and thought the purchase was a sound expenditure of very limited cash. As always though a small percentage of gun guys are warriors and they will always be saving up for carefully chosen tier 1 rifles. The FBI was flooded Friday with more than 200,000 background check requests for gun purchases, setting a new single day record, the bureau reported Saturday.Remington Arms Group is seeing lower profits and sales now because those guys I mentioned have "got theirs". Such sales are a blip in total yearly sales figures but it's good to know such dudes are still out there. In all, the FBI fielded 203,086 requests on Black Friday, up from the previous single-day highs of 185,713 last year and 185,345 in 2015.
They then saw the error of their ways apparently because of being inundated by phone calls and resumed stamping the date code on the barrel on 10/1/01.
And they point the same also....noticed one thing...put the white diamond gripcap on the 870 rather than the duck. Very nice, I have the 1100 20ga version in route to my local cabelas, when I was there last I saw the 20ga version of the 870.....similar looking wood..nice gun, has the same quality and finish as the high gloss older guns.
And they point the same also....noticed one thing...put the white diamond gripcap on the 870 rather than the duck. I made it over to cabelas, now they are stocking these guns, 1100 20ga (2 of them) and neither had impressive wood, so I will keep browsing until I find one with some XXX wood.
So here we have another case of stupid people running a company that think they know it all. If nothing has changed technically they are not their own entity. Which owns bushmaster, remmington, dpms, para, barnes bullets (excellent copper solid jhps by the way), advanced arment the number one name in surpressors, marlin, tapco aka crapco. Sounds like they should have had a plan on what to do after their salesman left ofc.
Thank God for these gun companies but lets be honest, they milked the publics fears for many years. I bought all of my guns during the Obama years and I know the same guns I bought would probably be much cheaper if I had bought them after Obama left office. Downsize, reduce the numbers of models built, and use some of that largeness they made prior to dip in sales. Problem is.....companies get addicted to massive, easy profits, and want to exploit the fears of the public to get it back.
REMINGTON MANUFACTURING DATE CODE stamped on LH top rear of barrel, 2 or 3 digit, (month first, year after) these will normally only be the last letters as seen below, The factory says all barrels are date code stamped, well I have found some that are not, or if they are, are so erratic stamping that trying to decipher them is impossible. Both were taken off Remington 760s, with the one on the left, a 30-06 that I bought new October 10, 1954. The one on the right again a 30-06, but with a shorter barrel that I made into a knock around quad rifle with pivot mounts.
(*) On 8/9/99, they stopped stamping the barrels with the date code.SOURCE: ZERO HEDGE 2017 has seen the biggest drop in American firearms sales in history. After 8 years of almost incessant rises in NICS Firearms Checks (a proxy for legal arms sales) under President Obama This sudden drop in demand after President Trumps election has meant Remington Outdoor, the second-largest U. gunmaker, has suffered a rapid and sharp deterioration in sales and a similar drop in profits since January, and faces continued softness in consumer demand for firearms, according to credit analysts at Standard & Poors Global Ratings. Year-to-date figures are well ahead of the third-place year, 2015.This American Classic model was built 50 years after his, in the same plant at that!I am going to shoot the heck out of it until I can't any longer! Then they gave me employee pricing, coupons, rebates, points, it definitely takes the sting out of the price. I called, they sold it already, but I love the wood:
